Glossary of Terms / Abbreviations

General Terms

Member	Term used to described your registered status with napXchange
Player/Alias	A name a member has chosen to enter a competiiton
Back	Selecting a horse to win
Lay	Selecting a horse to lose
Festival	A series of races on one or more days, usually from one racecourse
Nap	A selection to win (back) or lose (lay) a race
Back of the Day	The most popular selection in all back competitions
Lay of the Day	The most popular selection in all lay competitions
Settling	The overnight process which updates all competitions according to the day's results
SP	The official Starting Price, distributed by the Press Association
SR	Strike Rate: percentage of correct naps

Star ratings are based on members winning competitions (first place only).
